Why We’re Saying Goodbye to Certain Gel Polish (Gellak) Products

Did you know? Gel polish, also called gellak, has been a favorite for its long-lasting shine and durability. Starting 1 September 2025, new European regulations will ban certain chemicals in nail products, including TPO (trimethylbenzoyl-diphenylphosphine oxide), which is commonly used in gel nail polishes.

At Arete Beauty & Wellness, we’re always committed to keeping your beauty treatments high-quality, safe, and up-to-date with the latest standards.

Why We Removed Gel Polish (Gellak) from Our Treatment Menu

You might have noticed that our gel polish services are temporarily removed. This is due to the new EU regulations, a proactive step to ensure all our products comply with the latest standards.

What This Means for You

  • Gel polish (gellak) services using TPO-containing products are temporarily removed from our menu.

  • Manicures and pedicures with regular nail polish continue as usual, safe and beautiful!

  • Other treatments, like facials, massages, and wellness therapies, are fully available.

How We’re Moving Forward

We are actively sourcing TPO-free gel products that:

  • Are fully compliant with EU regulations

  • Deliver long-lasting, beautiful results

Until these new products are ready, we’ll focus on providing classic nail polish services and all our other treatments, ensuring every visit to Arete Beauty & Wellness is enjoyable and worry-free.

We kindly ask for your patience as we take the time to carefully source the right, fully compliant products before reintroducing this treatment to our menu.

Thank You for Your Understanding

We appreciate your patience during this transition. We’ll keep you updated on our website and social media when new gel polish (gellak) options become available.

Your satisfaction and experience remain our highest priorities. Thank you for trusting Arete Beauty & Wellness with your beauty and wellness needs.

The Importance of Manicure and Pedicure Care

Even without gel polish (gellak), taking care of your nails is essential for both health and beauty. Regular manicures and pedicures:

  • Keep nails strong and healthy: Trimming, shaping, and moisturizing prevent breakage and splitting.

  • Maintain hygiene: Cleaning under nails and removing dead skin reduces the risk of infections.

  • Boost circulation: Massaging hands and feet during treatments improves blood flow and helps your skin feel revitalized.

  • Enhance appearance: Smooth cuticles and polished nails make a big difference in overall presentation.

  • Promote relaxation: The process itself is a mini-wellness session, reducing stress and tension.

At Arete Beauty & Wellness, we use the best-quality nail polish that is long-lasting and does not damage your nails, ensuring that your manicure and pedicure treatments leave your hands and feet healthy, beautiful, and perfectly cared for.
